The campaign

Three acts of about 30 minutes, climbing from the deep where you fell to a corrupted heaven, then one more fall and a second climb a hundred years later. Alone or with friends.

The campaignArt in progress

Every character starts with the campaign, alone or with friends: three acts of about 30 minutes each, climbing from the bottom of the world, where you woke, to the gate of heaven. The first climb introduces the monsters, the skills and crafting. At the top you choose your faction, then fall once more, willingly and keeping your memories, and wake a hundred years later to climb the same acts again, harder. That second climb takes the place of a Nightmare pass, and ends where the endgame begins. About three hours in all. Each act ends with a boss, and each act boss gives back a memory. No character skips the campaign: every new fallen climbs both times (decided by Alex on 25 October 2026).

How the regions fall into the three acts is a proposal, told act by act on the Journey.

Proposal

Caves and fields are still generated from seeds, but each act has fixed landmarks and a fixed order, so the route is the same every time while the layout is not. Each act ends with a boss that guards the way up: Orrin's Drowned Court waits on the Drowned Coast.

Keeping it short is the point: a new build is one long evening away from maps, and a fallen who knows the way climbs faster.

Climbing together

Marked for Alex by a Claude stand-in, at his request, and applied as decided on 25 October 2026.

  • An act counts for every fallen who fought its boss, even one that hasn't reached it on its own climb.
  • The gate's keeper stands in the gate, so all kin fight it, and any fallen already in heaven may join them there. Only a fallen that has beaten all three acts goes through.
  • At the top each fallen chooses in its own time; the party's fire waits.
  • A memory's scene plays at the next fire, and again at any hub.

Today

There is no campaign in the build yet: the game is one endless run of generated cave depths, with a portal on at the end of each. That is the deep where the climb begins, without the acts above it. See Where it stands.
