The Hearthfolk say this is the heart of Sereth the Ashen, the fallen who reached the Heartfire and came back with his ember burned out, and still walks. Nobody knows how.
Some say he gave the amulet away. Some say it was taken from him in the Heartfire, and that he came back to look for it. Sereth sits apart from the Hearth and does not warm his hands, and he will not say what he saw.
